What was your first exposure to motorcycles? Walking home from grade school and watching older kids wheelie by my elementary school. Then, getting my first Cat mini bike and riding it everyday after school.
What was your first exposure to racing? My two older brothers Andrew and Brent taking me to our local TT, motocross & drag races; and hanging with friends who raced.
How did you get involved in racing? My brother Brent said “you going to start racing,” so I signed up.
What year did you start racing or being involved in racing? In 1969, at the age of 9, I started motocross racing.

Do you have any favorite riding spots? Going up the Haleakalā Crater road, 7000 ft above sea level (video below.)
What is the motorcycle culture like in Hawaii? We can ride here all year long and we have all types of bikes here; Sportbikes, Custom Street Harleys, Dual Sport, SuperMoto.
Do you have any advice for those aspiring to get into racing? Set your goals and be thankful when you reach them.
Do you have any rituals that you do before racing? A prayer with our team.
Have you ever thought about trying another form of motorcycle racing? No I haven’t, but if we had a road course I would like to try some road racing.
