RLX: Tour For The Cure
Building American Muscle To Support American Muscle
The Cause: Vic Perz, founder and CEO of SteelAnchor.org has brought together Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Darwin Motorcycles and Pros4Vets to support the “RLX Tour for the Cure”. The goal? Simple, raise as much money we can to further research in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition to these two fields of much needed research we will be sharing the proceeds raised with Pros4Vets.
Over the course of 2011 the “RLX” will travel across the country with stops at all the major bike rallies, races along the ALMS Circuit (American Le Mans Series) as well as races along the IRL Circuit (Indy Racing League). Once the tour is over the RLX will be awarded to one VERY lucky winner. Also at that time SteelAnchor will present a check from the proceeds raised directly to the Department of the Navy. Also a percentage of the proceeds will go to Pros4Vets where it will be applied to a “bank” of available funds for legal assistance and medical clinics designed specifically to help our Veterans. Steel Anchor: Defined as a severe anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to any event that results in psychological trauma, PTSD is a problem that too many of our brothers and sisters have to face. Our military recognizes PTSD today and is working towards a cure but they can’t do it alone. Steel Anchor is working to help raise money to further research in PTSD and TBI (traumatic brain injury). The money we raise is being presented to Navy Hospital directly to help further their research. Sometimes the biggest challenge our brothers and sisters have is just coming home.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing: Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLLR) is an auto racing team that currently races in the American Le Mans Series and part–time in the IndyCar Series. Based in Hilliard, Ohio, it is co–owned by 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal, television talk show host and comedian David Letterman, and entrepreneur Mike Lanigan.
Darwin Motorcycles: Over the past several years, Darwin Motorcycles has been featured in many National Magazines, and on TV. They have earned the respect of our peers, placing 2nd and 3rd in the World Championships of bike building (production class). They have won bike build offs. They have been selected by IronWorks magazine for 2 consecutive annual features to give-away 2 promotional bikes. They have co-promotions with national brands like Gatorz Eyewear and Spectrol. They have been selected as a Top 10 production manufacturer in 2008 and Awarded “Production Bobber of the Year” for 2009 by Easyriders and V-Twin Magazine. They are the official bike builder for Daytona Bike Week 2011.
Pros4Vets: Our nation’s heroes return from war only to face an all-new battle at home. Without help, their physical and mental wounds can take a devastating toll. That’s why these soldiers and their families need our support. Pros 4 Vets brings together professionals from diverse backgrounds to help our veterans in any way they can. From addressing relevant issues to providing free legal assistance, Pros 4 Vets combines the star power of professional athletes with career professionals from all fields to serve those who sacrifice to protect our freedom.
