Mathew Scholtz delivered a flawless weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, sweeping both MotoAmerica Superbike races aboard his STRACK Racing Yamaha and extending his championship lead in dominant fashion.

After taking victory in Race 1, the South African star returned on Sunday and controlled Race 2 from the front, crossing the finish line 6.609 seconds ahead of JD Beach after 20 laps around the demanding Alabama circuit. Scholtz also set the fastest lap of the race with an impressive 1:23.453, further proving the pace of the Yamaha package as the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike season heats up.

The Barber double gives Scholtz maximum points on the weekend and stretches his championship advantage to 34 points heading into the next round.

The STRACK Racing Yamaha squad overcame setup issues earlier in the weekend before finding the right combination when it mattered most on race day. Despite challenging track conditions and front-end struggles during the opening laps of Race 2, Scholtz managed the race perfectly, maintaining a fast and consistent pace while avoiding mistakes and steadily increasing his advantage.

The performance once again highlighted the importance of airflow and engine efficiency at the highest level of motorcycle road racing. Scholtz’s Yamaha is equipped with a high-performance Sprint Filter air filter, helping deliver the throttle response, airflow, and consistency required to compete at the front of the MotoAmerica Superbike field.

As the official U.S. distributor for Sprint Filter, Brock’s Performance offers the same advanced filtration technology trusted by top teams competing at the highest levels of motorcycle racing around the world.

Behind Scholtz, JD Beach secured second place for Yamaha, while Sean Dylan Kelly completed the podium for BMW. Richie Escalante finished fourth aboard his Suzuki, and Cameron Petersen recovered from a difficult weekend to bring his Ducati home inside the top five.

With back-to-back wins and championship momentum firmly on his side, Scholtz leaves Barber looking every bit like the rider to beat in the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike championship.
